If you are receiving Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits in New Hampshire, it’s important to check your payment status to ensure your funds arrive on time and to resolve any issues promptly. Here are the main ways to check your SSDI payment status.

Find out if you qualify for SSDI benefits. Pre-qualify in 60 seconds for up to $4,018 per month and 12 months back pay.

Please answer a few questions to help us determine your eligibility.

1. Use Your my Social Security Account

The fastest and easiest way to check your payment status is through your my Social Security account at www.ssa.gov/myaccount. After logging in, you can:

  • See your upcoming payment date
  • Confirm payment amounts
  • Review your payment history
  • Update direct deposit information if needed

If you do not have an account, you can create one online. It is a secure way to manage your benefits anytime.

2. Check Your Bank Account or Direct Express Card

If you receive SSDI through direct deposit:

  • Log in to your online banking app or call your bank to see if your payment has been deposited
  • If you use a Direct Express debit card, call the number on the back of your card or log in to your Direct Express online account to check your balance

3. Call the Social Security Administration

You can call SSA’s toll-free number at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778) to check your payment status. Representatives are available:

  • Monday through Friday
  • From 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Have your Social Security number and personal information ready for identity verification.

4. Visit Your Local SSA Office

You can also visit your local Social Security office in New Hampshire to inquire about your SSDI payment. To save time:

  • Call ahead to schedule an appointment
  • Bring identification and any SSA correspondence with you

Use the SSA Office Locator at ssa.gov/locator to find your nearest office.

When Are SSDI Payments Usually Sent?

SSDI payments are typically sent based on your birth date:

  • 1st – 10th: Paid on the second Wednesday of each month
  • 11th – 20th: Paid on the third Wednesday of each month
  • 21st – 31st: Paid on the fourth Wednesday of each month

If your payment date falls on a holiday, SSA will deposit your payment on the business day before.
